The FedGov claims the power, however, to reject an application to renounce in the presence of one or more of a small list of conditions: duress upon the renunciant, renunciant’s lack of understanding of consequences, attempt by renunciant to flee prosecution by means of renunciation, and a few others.

BTW, as you’re typing in a comment if you scroll down the page a bit there’s an “instant preview” which shows how what you’re entering is going to look, *if* you have JavaScript enabled in your browser. Cheers.

I wouldn’t call me a reliable source. I’ve only studied the Slovak system, and that only partially. I haven’t even applied yet for my travel document, so I don’t yet know exactly what I face.

That said, yes, I imagine that interior ministries are generally the issuing authorities. But it’s really a question of researching the local law and regulations.

I don’ tknow how much of these questions you’ve gotten, but you seem to be a pretty reliable source for such information, seeing as you’re going through this yourself. The Stateless Travel Documents are issued by the Interior (or likewise) Dept of the Country, given they have signed the proper U.N. agreements?
