In my mind this is true, but only in the limited circumstance of a referendum, and only when the vote cast is to take power away from government or to refuse giving more power to it.

In other words, sure, libertarianism is still a flawed philosophy, but it’s a damned sight better than what we’ve got now. If we ever get there, then we can break ranks with them. For now I make common cause.

Telling people not to vote because some (most?) people do it predatorily seems a bit like telling people not to carry a gun because some people misuse them.

Voting can be done in self-defence. Ok, so Ron Paul wasn’t perfect, but he’d have been a step in the right direction.
