(Yes, I'm an anarchist too, but I haven't yet convinced my wife of the whole "stateless" thing yet, so I'm stuck living here. Might as well do what I can to make it suck less until I can run away.)
I say let them have their sovereignity, bastards deserve to suffer, as far as I'm concerned.
But I've sworn not to go back to HI without a belt-fed full auto 12 Ga and enough ammo to deal with every "Local Boy" around, so it's possible I'm not the least biased opinion you'll gather.

God, I hate Hawaii. In any case, USFEDGOVDOMAIN becomes smaller. Gotta be a win.

Eh, the plutocrats did the annexation thing already over a hundred years ago. I support the right of the people to secede, of course, but I do not support the right of some plutocrats in Hawaii to claim sovereignty over the islands in favor of the United States, just because it'd make a smaller political unit. Monarchy is even more tyrannical than the pseudo-democratic republican system of the U.S. It's no mistake that countries with democratically elected legislatures tend to do better on measures of their citizens' well-being, from happiness surveys to the Human Development Index.
If the people of Hawaii want to be governed by a monarchy instead of the U.S. government, of course, that'd be another matter. Ultimately, the choice should always rest with the people.

I’m not so sure that improvement comes with every secession.
