There are important lessons to be learned here for everyone: Next time you join a online community, attempt to determine who owns or controls it. Who really has thet final say, who has the "keys" to the kingdom, the web site, the accounts? Who controls the community data, and the servers where that data lives? How easy will it be to export the discussion archives move them elsewhere if the need arises in the future?
