I have one golden rule for myself: don't use the mobile when your drunk. Adaptping that one may prevent further needs for bailouts.

If anything, it's refreshing. I know people who can ask for assistance from family/friends who don't because the state is already there to "help" them.
If more people would swallow their pride and just ask for help, we would be able to show how totally irrelevant state assistance is.

Roger, I completely fail to see how it’s a dangerous precedent to ask for help from friends. I don't think I've attempted here to absolve myself of personal responsibility. I've merely asked for assistance.
Cheers,

You want to “live free” but not take personal responsibility for your actions?
I think this sets a dangerous precedent- that when you make a costly mistake you should hope that friends will voluntarily bail you out. It would be different if you were in an accident and needed help with medical bills- but this is an even that was entirely preventable.
Again, I ask these questions in the spirit of love and encouragement, not to scold.

Please let this be clear beforehand that this question comes from an admirer and ally-

You want to “live free” but not take personal responsibility for your actions?

I think this sets a dangerous precedent- that when you make a costly mistake you should hope that friends will voluntarily bail you out.
