The fact that the word “photoshop” is now a verb is, ultimately, cool.

Via Crooks and Liars:

Someone's been watching too much "They Live", or maybe they see the fnords clearly? Hmmmmm....

That is bloody brilliant! (And I lean toward the They Live explanation, if anyone’s counting or caring.)

I have been reading your site for a while and really enjoy it. I’m former right-winger who still has a tendency to shrill when I read liberal hogwash and feel shame when I read conservative bullshit having once believed in it. So when I started looking over crooks and liars, I realized that it was just a propaganda machine for socialism. I’m not trying to pick a fight, because you changed my opinions on a lot of things, especially my activities in the Libertarian Party. I am interested in your opinion on linking websites that pushes social control on people. Maybe it’s a trite thing to question, as I’m sure it does not make you any less idealistic. But do you feel that this condones a certain amount of hypocrisy seeing as you could say that Democrats demand the same obedience from their subjects?

    that’s an amazing photo 🙂

Thanks for following me while I was in St. Paul – it was such a clusterfuck and I was totally prevented from doing any kind of journalism the rest of the week. Some police-media-state apparatus we have.

They Live is one of my all-time favorite films. Throw away the stuff about aliens and there remains an important message which so few people just do not get: The ruling class is not like us.

I changed your opinions? Wow! I’m delighted! Thanks very much for the compliment.

As for linking to Crooks and Liars, I just consider it a common courtesy to credit the source of the image as far as I can trace it. YMMV, of course.

@Joe La Sac (aeconomics): I dropped another comment at The Melon today also, and I follow both that and your blog. One thing I forgot to mention there is that freedom of the press is dead so long as “the press” can be defined any way the state wishes it to be. Glad to know you got out of the slammer in one piece at any rate.

Oh boy, are you right about that, Mike! I would daresay that the current shenanigans in the LNC show that would-be rulers can be made—anyone who wants or gains coercive power over others can fall prey to the process.

Yeah I was following the Angela Keaton chronicles a bit and then caught up on all of it yesterday. *Barf*. “Party of principle” my ass!
